Phnom Svay Mountain Buddha

What to expect

The Buddha watches over all of Banlung from Phnom Svay Mountain and can be seen from far away. The best time to visit the Buddha is in the evening before the sunset. Once it gets dark, spotlights illuminate the buddha and the area around it. Since construction of the Buddha, it has become a very popular hangout spot for locals and some vendors have already set up shop up there to sell snacks and cold drinks.

Note, the area infront of the Buddha is still under construction. We will update you here, once construction has been completed.

How to get to phnom svay mountain?

You can rent a motorbike or hire a motorbike or tuk tuk taxi to get to the Buddha. We don’t recommend riding a bycicle there as some parts of the road up the hill are quite steep.

The entrance is free for everyone.
